Does splitting keep the original quality?

Yes. Pages are copied directly into the new files without re-rendering, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.

Why do I get a ZIP file?

When the split produces more than one PDF, they are packed into a single ZIP so your browser only has to download once. Each PDF inside is named after the original with its page range appended.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is transmitted, stored or logged, and the page keeps working if you go offline after it has loaded.

Why does it say my PDF is password-protected?

The file is encrypted and needs its open password before it can be edited. Run it through the Unlock PDF tool first, enter the password, and then use the unlocked copy here.

Use commas to separate groups and a dash for a span. For example, 1-3, 7, 10-12 creates three files: pages 1 to 3, page 7, and pages 10 to 12. In Extract mode the same syntax picks the pages that go into a single new PDF.
