How to merge PDF files on Windows, Mac or phone
Combining documents is the most common PDF task there is: a cover letter and a CV, several scanned pages, or chapters exported separately. You do not need Acrobat or any installed program; a modern browser can merge PDFs on its own.

Merge in four steps
- Open the Merge PDF tool and add your files. You can drag them from a folder, paste them from the clipboard, or tap to pick them on a phone.
- Drag the files into the order you want. The first file becomes the first pages of the result.
- Click Merge PDF. The combined file is assembled in your browser, so even confidential documents stay on your device.
- Download the result. Nothing is kept once you close the page.
Tips for a clean result
- Name your files with a number prefix (01, 02, 03) before merging if you have many; they arrive in the list in a predictable order.
- Mixing scans and digital documents is fine. Page sizes can differ inside one PDF.
- Photos or screenshots that should become pages can be turned into a PDF first with the JPG to PDF tool, then merged.
- After merging, use Organize PDF to delete blank pages, rotate sideways scans or move a page.
- Add page numbers last, with the Add page numbers tool, so the numbering reflects the final order.
Password-protected files
A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be merged as is. Unlock it first with the Unlock PDF tool using its password, merge, and protect the final document again if needed.
